The Homag group is a global leader in the development and production of woodworking machines and plants used in the wood-based panel-processing furniture, construction supplies and pre-fabricated homes industries. Headquartered in Schopfloch, Germany, the company operates 16 production and assembly sites worldwide. Its product range comprises machines, cells, factory installations and services. Key customers are furniture manufacturers as well as companies operating in the production of building components and in timbre-frame home construction.
Initially, the company focused on the production of machines used to process wood-based materials. In line with the trend towards processing various materials in the manufacture of furniture and in pre-fabricated home construction, however, the product range was extended to include machines and plants capable of processing other materials (e.g. plastics, mineral-based materials and lightweight panels).
Deutsche Beteiligungs AG considers Homag’s expanded product offerings and its global leadership an excellent platform for the company’s future progress.
With a world market share of more than 25 percent, the Homag group is optimally positioned for further growth. It plans to reach that goal by consistently enhancing its technological leadership.
